Looking for another Polarstern

An actual combination from webcam
images with the mean sea level
pressure and the significant wave height.

All images are from the EUMeTrain platform.
During the CALMet Conference, I reported briefly about the Polarstern, a German research vessel. The last expeditions  in the Arctic, over the Atlantic and in the Antarctic are captured and shared through the EUMeTrain website. You can read more about the Polarstern project, led by Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD), in the WMO Bulletin Volume 61(2) or find the route of Polarstern directly on the EUMeTrain website.

We are looking for other partners now!

Do you have in your country also a vessel which is most of the days per year on duty of science and makes routine observations according to the code SYNOP FM13 SHIP? And are you interested to integrate your vessel in the EUMeTrain webpage?

EUMeTrain team is keen to cover the Atlantic and Arctic region in the first place; however we could also investigate if other regions can be included.

If you are interested in this idea to integrate your vessel to the EUMeTrain page, please use the comment box to reply or write me an email.

Many thanks!
